·         Qualifications for Office you seek: I have served as Council member for the City of Harahan for the last four years.  Prior to that, I served on the Planning and Zoning Board for eight years and as Chairman for 2 years.  As a lifelong resident of Harahan, I have worked on numerous committees and community projects and have served in various capacities in an attempt to give what I have to help the city that I love, I believe in service to my fellow man.  I believe in giving back to the community in gratitude for what has been provided for me by those who have come before me. I am a fourth generation of five generations of citizens of Harahan and to me; community service is a labor of Love.   Honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, hard work, and experience are what I have to offer.         

City Improvement

·         What distinguishes you from the other candidates? I have always shown a willingness to serve this community in any way possible, from coaching little league games and leading a Cub Scout Troop, to teaching computer skills to young students, to putting out barricades in severe weather, rolling of hoses at a fire, to assisting families and comforting them after a fire that damaged their home, to raising money for the Cities new museum, as well as assisting with school fairs and other community events. I have the experience to plan and balance the $5.3 million dollar budget and make hard decisions that effect the entire city. Hard work and dedication are proven attributes I will continue to bring to the this office.  It has been my distinct pleasure to serve as a Council Member for the last four years and I look forward to expanding my role in the future.  

·         What is your vision for the office you seek and how do you plan to accomplish this? Flooding is a real and present danger homes and businesses in our city; it threatens our way of life and it is my plan to continue working closely with Parish and State Officials to improve drainage.  Another important task I will undertake is the return of a recycling program to Harahan.  Creating an atmosphere conducive to new business start up is high on the list of which I want to achieve for our community.  My skills and abilities gained in the real world through hard work and a thirst for knowledge will help me with these goals. My business acumen has served me well in the position of Councilwoman as has my instinct and my intellect.  In addition, you will have the benefit of my sincerity, sensitivity, compassion, Honesty & integrity, and shear determination.
